Dutch solar installer Soly has been successfully collaborating with gridX since summer of 2023. Together, the two companies have rolled out their smart energy management solution, Soly Brain, which gives Soly’s customers access to additional smart energy services for their homes. gridX’s energy management technology, the XENON platform and the local energy gateway, serve as the core of the digital infrastructure on which Soly has built its own energy management app and other digital end-customer solutions. gridX technology empowers Soly households to automatically and efficiently manage their electricity consumption, reduce costs and maximize the use of their self-generated solar power. Dynamic tariffs can also be optimally utilized, as the energy management system continuously balances solar production, energy consumption and electricity prices in real-time.
Since the launch of the Soly Brain, it’s been evident that the demand for the smart Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) far exceeded Soly’s internal installation capacity – a positive signal for the company and the industry. To drive the energy transition as effectively as Soly envisions, a different approach was needed to accommodate the high demand, to which Soly and gridX provided a joint solution. After an in-depth analysis, the two scale-ups developed a new offering that allows solar and battery installers, PV scale-ups and energy providers to offer the Soly EMS solution – the Soly Brain – through external installers, helping them meet the growing market demand.
As a key success milestone, Soly and the Dutch company PVO International began a partnership in May 2025. As a wholesaler, PVO International serves as a crucial link between Soly and its network of independent installers interested in offering their customers a HEMS and an associated energy contract. What makes this supply chain particularly noteworthy is its accessibility across the Benelux region and Germany either directly through PVO International or via its subsidiary Sun Demand.
Now, even small installation businesses can offer their customers an advanced HEMS. At the same time, this value chain ensures that market demand is effectively addressed, providing meaningful support to the energy transition. For gridX, this offering represents a significant expansion: gridX technology can now reach the mass market faster and more broadly, becoming a key component of the new energy infrastructure.
A successful pilot project allowed the grid operator's control center to override the dynamic load management's local setting according to future energy regulation.
Viessmann wanted to adapt its business model from a manufacturer to a fully integrated energy solutions provider. XENON helped them achieve this digital transformation.
